NORTHEAST MOUNTAIN PEOPLE is an interview series. The series includes planned in-depth interviews, and unplanned, brief, on-the-spot interviews of people who hike the mountains of the northeast United States.
“Hands down, the fact that it’s January, we’re up 4,800 feet . . . and it's spectacularly sunny, the clouds have moved in, but all the way up, it’s blue sky all the way around and no wind. . .it’s very rare that you get to set up in the middle of January in your base layer, and we have a 360 degree view: wilderness, The Whites, not sure what those guys are to the West out in Vermont, it’s fantastic! Also, I just had this thought—I think it's a really interesting thought—seeing as, at this elevation, the amount of people who actually go up hiking in these mountains, say that there’s like 100 people at this elevation or higher— that means that all those people are the highest people on the entire east coast.”
